Smoked Too Much Weed? Here’s How You Sober Up Fast…

SMOKED TOO MUCH WEED? HERE’S HOW YOU SOBER UP FAST…

We’ve all been there. One minute we’re relaxing with friends over an almost perfectly rolled, perfectly lit joint. The next, we’re in an uncontrollable panic because we’ve just remembered we’ve got something super important to do, or somewhere important to go, or someone important to see, and we’re just too high to make it happen. “Oh man! Just how long does a weed high last?!” they hear us cry.

For anyone who loves to reach for the skies as much as we do, learning how to sober up from weed is an essential life skill. And so, if you’re all sitting comfortably, this is how you do it…

1. TOO MUCH THC? COUNTERACT WITH CBD

While THC is super psychoactive, CBD is one of the many compounds found in the cannabis plant that contains absolutely no psychoactivity. This means, that no matter how much CBD you ingest, it won’t get you high. But don’t worry, because CBD has other magical properties for you to take advantage of. You see, the beauty of the THC / CBD pairing is that if you’re suffering from a really full-on THC high, and you need to come down in a hurry, one simple solution is to drop a little CBD oil on your tongue. It won’t make you any less high, but it will help to reduce the psychoactive effects of THC on your brain, protect you from sudden anxiety and panic attacks, and give you the clarity you need to get that all important thing in your life done and dusted. To learn how much CBD to take, have a look here. The next time you light up a joint, consider turning it into a hemp spliff (mixing the weed) by blending the cannabis with some high quality hemp flower. It will taste delicious, make your stash last longer and keep your anxiety in check.

2. GET WEED OUT OF THE SYSTEM: DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

As with so many other things in life, if you’re uncontrollably high and you need to regain focus, water can be your savior. It’s one of the most organic, refreshing ways of detoxifying your body, which means if you need to get yourself into tip-top shape for a meeting, quick sharp, one of the best things you can do is down a couple of liters of ice-cold H2O. If you’re not a big fan of water, and let’s be honest, not everyone is, then you could try orange juice or cranberry juice as an alternative, but neither one will ever be as effective at getting you down from your high as water. Just turn on the tap, brother.

3. HOW TO STOP BEING HIGH? GO FOR A RUN.

Exercise is another simple and immediate solution to too much THC dancing its way through your body. Whenever you take part in some sort of physical activity, your body naturally deposits a whole bunch of endorphins, neurotransmitters that temporarily block pain signals, into your brain. On top of being able to help you push through the pain barrier when exercising, they can also distract you from the effects of an insane high. With your mind on something else, your body gets time to readjust and bring you naturally back down to Earth. So, go on. Get off the sofa and get your Nikes on.

4. HOW TO COME DOWN FROM A HIGH? CATCH A FEW WINKS

So, what happens if you don’t have any CBD to hand, you don’t like water (or orange or cranberry juice, for that matter), and you hate any form of exercise with a passion? Well, there’s always sleep. Sleep is an awesome organic solution to too much weed. It’s relaxing, easy-to-do, free, and good for your body on so many levels. A 30-minute siesta is all it takes to help reduce the effects of an excessive high. To be honest, any more than that and you might actually wake up feeling worse than you did before you laid your head to rest. So, if you’ve got an important presentation to give, an exam to sit, a special dinner to attend, or some such other unbelievably cool activity on your to-do list, set your alarm, catch some ZZZZZZZs, and dream your high away.

5. WHEN YOU WANNA BRING IT DOWN: EAT SOMETHING TASTY

And if all else fails, then eat your way out of your high. First rule of thumb is to make yourself something undeniably delicious to munch on. If you really love the food you’ve served up on your plate, you’ll focus more on what it tastes like and less on what your high feels like. The less you focus on your high, the easier it will be for you to come down off of it. And just so you know, fatty foods like burgers and pizzas are great options, because THC metabolizes quicker with fatty foods. There’s never been a better excuse than too much weed to justify a five-tiered burger with XXXXL fries on the side. Oh yeah!

And just when you thought it was all over…

While there’s nothing that can scientifically prove what we’re about to say, some people believe that black pepper helps to reduce anxiety levels in a flash. So if your high is making you a little paranoid, get your teeth gnashing on a couple of black peppercorns, or let your nose get a whiff of what they smell like, all snuggled up together in a jar. You just might find that you can season your high into oblivion.
